Range of Neutronic Parameters for Repository Criticality Analyses

The Range of Neutronic Parameters for Repository Criticality Analyses technical report contains a summary of the benchmark criticality analyses (including the laboratory critical experiment [LCEs] and the commercial reactor criticals [CRCs]) used to support the validation of the criticality evaluation methods. This report also documents the development of the Critical Limits (CLs) for the repository criticality analyses.

Waste Package, LCE, CRC, and Radiochemical Assay Comparison Evaluation

The purpose of this calculation is to document the validity of the commercial reactor criticals (CRC) as a source for a spent nuclear fuel benchmark, and to characterize the neutronic similarities between a CRC and a waste package (WP). This report illustrates comparisons of neutron spectrum and the effects on criticality arising from physical differences between a WP and a CRC. This report is an engineering calculation supporting the development of the disposal criticality analysis methodology, performed under Quality Administrative Procedure (QAP)-3-15 Revision 0.

CRC Reactivity Calculations for Quad Cities Unit 2

In the development of a methodology to account for exposure effects on the reactivity of spent Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) fuel in the proposed Monitored Geologic Repository (MGR) at Yucca Mountain, the accuracy of the methods used to predict the inventories of fissile and fissionable nuclides as well as neutron poisons present in the spent fuel must be established. One aspect ofthis confirmatory effort is accomplished by performing benchmark problems for known in-reactor critical configurations - Commercial Reactor Criticals (CRCs).

CRC Reactivity Calculations for Three Mile Island Unit 1

The purpose of this calculation is to document the Three Mile Island Unit 1 pressurized water reactor {PWR) reactivity calculations performed as part o f the commercial reactor critical (CRC) evaluation program. CRC evaluation reactivity calculations are performed at a number of statepoints, representing reactor start-up critical conditions at either beginning of life (BOL), beginning of cycle (BOC), or mid- cycle when the reactor resumed operation after a shutdown.

Range of Neutronic Parameters Calculation File

The purpose of this engineering calculation is to document the benchmark range, over a variety of parameters, for the validation of the criticality calculations supporting the Monitored Geologic Repository (MGR). This engineering calculation accomplishes this by characterizing the Laboratory Critical Experiments (LCE) and the Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Commercial Reactor Criticals (CRC), and summarizing the significant parameters. This engineering calculation supports the Disposal Criticality Analysis Methodology program.

LCE for Research Reactor Benchmark Calculations

The purpose of this calculation is to document the MCNP4B2L V evaluations of Laboratory Critical Experiments (LCEs) performed as part of the Disposal Criticality Analysis Methodology program. LCE evaluations documented in this report were performed for 182 different cases with varied design parameters. The objective of this analysis is to quantify the MCNP4B2LV code system's ability to accurately calculate the effective neutron multiplication factor (keff) for various critical configurations.

CRC Reactivity Calculations for Crystal River Unit 3

The purpose of this calculation is to document the Crystal River Unit 3 pressurized waste reactor (PWR) reactivity calculations performed as part of the commercial reactor critical (CRC) evaluation program. CRC evaluation reactivity calculations are performed at a number of statepoints, representing reactor start-up critical conditions at either beginning of life (BOL), beginning of cycle (BOC), or mid-cycle when the reactor resumed operation after a shutdown.
